I think your interpretation is quite good. Indeed the daffodile brings joy to the poet in his solitude. But why are there strong conflicts (or contrast) between the poet and the flower at first? I think the two of them are congenial to each other. The liveliness of the flower is also the poet's out in nature, just as the image of the flowers brings tranquility to the poet. Kate |
