Dear Alumna/Alumnus,

This year is the 40th anniversary of Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan, and the 40th anniversary of the English Department. To commemorate this very special occasion, we sincerely invite you and your family to join us in a series of activities on Sunday, December 7 in our Alumni Homecoming Day. 

The Department of English Language and Literature was founded in 1963 with Fr. Peter Venne as the first Chair. Under Fr. Venne and the following Chairs, Fr. Pierre Demers, Sr. Heliena Krenn, Joyce Liu, Thomas Nash, Cecilia Liu, and Raphael Schulte, the department has been well received and continually ranked among the top English Departments in Taiwan, public or private. These accomplishments are due not only to the faculty and students on campus, but owe a very great deal to the impressive achievements of you, our alumni.

On December 7 several former Chairs will be present, along with current faculty, and we will have on display photographs of student life and academic activities from the last 40 years, as well as the yearbooks of many classes. You are also more than welcome to bring your own photographs and mementos of college life to share with everyone.

We very much look forward to your return to the campus where you passed your college life. See you then!
