:The massive weight of Uncle・s wedding band
Sits heavily upon Aunt Jennifer・s hand.;
:When Aunt Jennifer is dead, her terrified hands will lie
Still ringed with ordeals she was mastered by.
Aunt Jennifer doesn・t have a good relationship with her husband. Their marriage is like a band to her, even when she was dead, she was ringed with ordeals. These tigers that are created by Aunt Jennifer presents her spirit. :Aunt Jennifer・s tigers prance across a screen,
Bright topaz denizens of a world of green.
They do not fear the men beneath the tree;
They pace in sleek chivalric certainty.;
:The tigers in the panel that she made
Will go on prancing proud and unafraid.;
I think :the men beneath the tree; and :a world of green; means the same thing, which is the power that men used to dominate women. The poem seems to show that although women couldn・t escape from the fate of being dominated by men. The spirits of women is the only thing that is free from being controled.
