Some of your expressions I don't quite understand. Let me say here what I know: the three paintings are all by Breughel, and the third one is about human indifference to "drowning" but not massacre. And then when we read the poem, we should pay attention to the "variation" of its line length.
Also, be careful when you use the word "everyone." Not everyone is indifferent, at least not in the same way.
