The main idea of this poem is that a person should have his own personality, thought, and style, don't just following others' steps. First, "Ten O'clock" is the time of sleeping. Therefore, "The house are haunted," "By white night-gowns." "The white night- gowns" means nightclothes. Then, the following four lines, "None are green,
íKOr yellow with blue rings," all describe the unchanged. Because, all the nightclothes are white. The next three lines mean that none wants to be different. "socks of lace" and "beaded ceintures" mean the differences from others. "To dream of baboons and periwinkles" means to have new thoughts. However, it says that "people are not going," "to dream of baboons and periwinkles". People do not create something. They just( "Only, here and there, íK. ) continue haunting. Sailor should be full of enthusiasm and adventure. However, in this poem, it only a drunk, asleep, and old sailor, who is in his boots. Finally, the poet encourage people to be brave to create and adventure.(Catches tigers. "tigers here means adventure and stimulation). "red" is a color of passion and enthusiasm..
