You really raised many good questions and made several good points. About the Pre-Raphaelite women,
yes, indeed, they become symbols or signs for other men's desire. But where is soul? Remember that it is a highly loaded term. You could mean that those women are not subject in themselves, but you can also imply that they are not spiritual and they are shallow (thus without soul).

As for ³\¾å¤¦, I don't know what to think about her yet. It's all presented like a farce by media. One thing it shows is that nudity can be seen as art, porn, or just show. And definitely, like any oil paintings, it is open to re-interpretation.
