The "closeness" of the female bodies in the paintings of
Dante Gabriel Rossetti is quite interesting. I wonder how the absence of the
ultimate female figure gets to be transmitted here.
Is the pervasiveness of the female bodies causing the
disillusionment of the image and object of the Romantic quest?
If the myth of the quest or the ideal of a female figure has dissappeared, then
what can be the repositioning of female role by late nineteenth century?

Another question:
How can the regrooming of DGR be related to the thriving of the decadents or the symbolist movement?
Or there is no direct relation or influence?
