Until/till都是「直到…才、直到」的意思，但是until較為正式，書面語也較常用。

Until可以當介系詞，也可以當連接詞。當介系詞時，只能與「時間」連用，不與「地點」連用。如： I will wait until nine o’clock「我會一直等到九點。」; 當連接詞時，如： She waited until her mother came back. (她一直等到她媽媽回來。)

Till當介系詞與連接詞時，與until有相同的意思，唯till屬口語用法，較不出現於正式文章中。此外，till也可當動詞，是「耕地」之意。
