With the developing of technology, all kinds of information expand faster and faster than before through Internet, the media and etc. Also, teenagers become more pre-conscious than before. A survey released last year by a medical foundation shows that 43.5% of sampled people have sexual intercourse under the age of 20. However, the sex education isn’t improved a lot. According to a research report, only 20 percent teenagers get information from their parents and teacher, which shows that the sex education wasn’t applied well in our country.

Indeed, sex education is not successful in our country. Though our society is very open now, still most teachers feel embarrassed when they need to talk about sex with students in public. Also, parents do not know how to discuss with their kids the sensitive issues of sex. Therefore, teenagers cant get satisfying answers to their questions either at school or at home. They tend to get wrong sex information from pornographic books, video, television, or Internet, which causes some terrible problems.

Last year, UN presented a statistics that said 3 billion populations of AIDS patients were adolescents ranging from 13 to 24 years old. Besides, in Taiwan, 16000 young girls became single mothers merely in one year. It is very obvious that teenagers lack of enough sex knowledge to protect themselves from damages while enjoying sex, which may lead to a tragedy.Especially when there was a news not too long ago saying that two 6th-year elementary school students were found having sex on campus, we can not neglect this problem anymore. The government has to invest money on sex education from many different aspects, like the training of the teachers, the production of videotapes, or other newer ways to carry out sex concepts. In other words, the most important job the government needs to do is to have a sound system to let teenagers have proper way to gain sex knowledge.

And the school is the most important institution to be responsible for providing students with correct sex knowledge. From several researches, schools take superior advantages of providing sex education other than family. A survey by Women and Children’s Healthy Association suggests that most Taiwanese people prefer sex education to be started with before the age of 10. Therefore, the sex education could be started in elementary school.

As we know, puberty is the period for the maturation of both ones sex organs but also ones mind and sense of identity. In this transitional period, teenagers start to find out what love is, and what sex is. Sometimes they easilyget confused, and think sex is the fastest way to prove their true love.

SoChildren, at this stage, need to have a basic idea about human bodies. In puberty, love and sex will be an interesting world they want to explore. Schools could teach them what they should do to solve their puzzles in love. What sex is should be another topic to be paid especially attention. Teachers may need to tell adolescence what men and women will do while having sex. Besides, students learn how people protect themselves while having sex intercourse. The knowledge of contraceptives, sex diseases, and abortion should be also included. The purpose of sex education is to let teenagers be ready for sex with complete knowledge.

Most important of all, teenagers know the best time for them to have sex is when they fully prepare. According to Long-Yu- Tai(???), with open mind toward sex is right when students are mature enough and having correct sex intercourse. Sex is not a bad thing, only when they are not fully prepared.

As for the availability of contraceptives in the campus which have been argued for a long time, it depends on weather sex education is successful or not. In Taiwan, the sex education isn't applied well and it may cause some problems if we deliver contraceptives pills or condom directly. First of all, this act may encourage them to have sexual intercourse before 18. Though schools want to protect them from the damage while having sex intercourse, teenagers may misunderstand the good wills of school and think that it’s ok to have sexual intercourse before 18. Secondly, it will disturb teenagers a lot, because it's against the moral standard nowadays seriously.

Therefore, making contraceptives available in the health center of campus is the best way. In this way, teenagers can get right information about contraceptives from doctors or nurse inside it. Also, they won't misunderstand and feel confused about the controversial act of school.

When the sex education is applied successfully, actually we won't need to consider a lot. If we have enough sex education, we don't need to afraid of confusing the teenagers.  Besides, students can get contraceptives easily out of school, like some convenience stores However, school can provide nurses and doctors while applying contraceptives in the school at the same time.

It help kids develop an idea of protecting themselves with contraceptives while having sex intercourse.  Some may argue that it will encourage students to have sex intercourse before 18 when they may not mature enough. Yet, after the school does lots of works to promote sex education, students can make their choice wisely. And applying contraceptives in campus are not only promotion but also for those want to have sex intercourse before18. Though they may be minority, they still need to protected.
