Author Alan Ayckbourn

An Artistic Director of the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, England. 
Born in London on 12 April, 1939.
Educated at Haileybury, Hertford, 1952-56. Married Christine Roland in 1959; two sons.
Has worked in theatre all his life as, stage manager, sound technician, lighting technician…
Stephen Joseph, his mentor and founder of the Theatre in Scarborough.
He has written 64 plays and has been internationally acclaimed as both playwright and director.

His plays have won numerous awards—including seven London Evening Standard Awards. Plays have been translated into 35 languages and also filmed in French and English.
Seven of his plays have been seen on Broadway attracting two Tony nominations.
