Relic

The speaker stands beside the sea's edge, finds the jawbone and observes the fluctuation of the sea. The old ruined and the new created. The moral reveals everything existed will eventually disappear.

1st stanza, L 3:
the deeps are cold: the inside heart of human being is unconcerned

2nd stanza, L 1:
jaws: the whole animals and human beings in the world

3rd stanza:
sea: natural environments where lives extend
cenotaph: monument to the dead, referring to the jawbones
