"How Tablets Can Help Improve Teaching and Learning."

Thanks to the improvement of information technology, our world is filled with multimedia materials and multifunctional portables such as smart phones and tablet computers. Not only are they commonly used for commercial and entertainment purposes, they are now also used in the improvement of how we teach and learn. And with the rise of the tablet industry, it is possible that in the near future, we can expect to see the reality of tablet computers replacing texts books in the use of education. The purpose of this research is to compare the advantages and disadvantages of both text books and tablets, and to discuss how high the probabilities of replacing text books with tablets are, along with questionnaire surveys and interviews.

“TV Commercials and Women’s Behavior”

Nowadays, with the progress of society, people emphasize more and more gender equality. However, we can still find gender discrimination and stereotyped woman image presented by most of the TV commercials.  With the impact of standard images and stereotyped characteristics of women, women [in our society?] can gradually internalize these images and become submissive and dependent. I want to argue that their behavior, the decision they make, and how they show themselves are greatly influenced by what the images that TV commercials convey to them.

“Male College Students in Taiwan Using Skin Care Products”

More and more skin care producers and cosmetics manufacturers have hired actors, male models or athletes to endorse facial products for men. This means using skin care products is not specifically for women anymore. Nowadays, many famous brands have created skin care products that suit and only belong to men. Therefore, more males have realized the benefit and need of skin protection and maintenance. This research paper is mainly giving a idea of how many male college students in Taiwan have already had the habit of using skin care products. Also, I will investigate whether the male celebrities’ endorsements would affect their choice of products and why.

ZARA or UNIQLO? The Retail Race in Taipei City”

Since Taipei is affluent with so much competitive Western brands for apparels, ZARA’s debut has inconceivably grown popular among the customers. With an analysis of the survey, the research aims to delve more into the consumer’s purchasing habits among the people ranging from college graduates to 40 year-old adults in Taipei in the hope to argue that ZARA’s semi-formal style and non-waterproof material would not cater to the local culture and climate change in Taipei, and could not compete with UNIQLO in terms of an utilitarian purpose. From the research, we can compare these two new brands’ marketing strategy and see which can succeed in Taipei city.
