"Title: Perfume Use amongst the Young Generation in Taiwan”

The acceptance of perfume use is exceedingly higher than a decade ago in Taiwan, especially the young generation ranging from 15~35 years old. Research shows that the young generation wears perfume for a score of reasons, from expressing themselves individually, establishing a social circle, confidence issues, to masking body odor. Media bombarding is also a factor to this phenomenon too. Advertisements can be seen everywhere, in all titles of media which appears in the social life of the young generation. This goal of study is to correlate the factors of acceptance of perfume nowadays in Taiwan compared to the old generation before. Individuals from two different groups will be participating in the research process, the young generation v.s the old generation. Research results from the two different groups show huge differences in what they see of the perfume market, use of perfume and the varieties of perfume that they originally recognize.

“Cultural Branding Strategy: A Case Study Of Eslite Bookstore”

This research is a case study of Eslite Bookstore’s brand management. My goal is to explore whether Eslite Bookstore has created an iconic brand for itself by the strategy of cultural branding. The research is mostly based on four parts: The first part is comparison between Douglas B. Holt’s theory of “Cultural branding” and other theories about brand management. The second part focuses on Eslite Bookstore’s history and it’s own marketing strategy for its brand. The third part is data collection that includes questionnaires and interview. Finally, the fourth part is my own analysis which is based on those brand management theories to examine whether Eslite Bookstore’s brand management strategy actually has its positive effect.

“Vocational Guidance for Ex-offenders to Live a New Life”

Many studies have indicated the influence of vocational training and environment on ex-offenders’ behavior. Yet, ex-offenders’ mental construct is rarely addressed.  The hypothesis guiding this study is: Vocational training, developed to solve personal problems ex-offenders have and environment they live, can rebuild ex-offenders’ self-confidence through which long-term goals or the meaning of life can be developed accordingly. Questionnaires, delivered to two organizations, which provide job training assistance, are conducted to know ex-offenders attitude toward their current and future lives. Interviews are designed to understand ex-offenders’ mental transformation like self-esteem and self-image. Findings of this study bring out ex-offenders’ psychological changes that are seldom addressed in the related literature. Through better understanding of obstacles ex-offenders encounter, this study aims to call for the government’s attention to provide vocational guidance that helps ex-offenders reintegrate into the society.
