“The Symbolism of Tattoo in Taiwan: Art or Gang?”

In the past, tattoo was recognized as a symbol of gangsters; however, people nowadays deem/see tattoo as a genre of art. While the elder generation still considers people with tattoo are in relation to the gang, the younger generation begins to appreciate the art of tattoo. Nowadays, people have tattoos on their body for different reasons—as either a motto or a memento. This research examines the opinions of people of different ages towards tattoo. Through my research, I argue that tattoo is served as an art design to express the individuality of modern people instead of the symbol of gangsters.

“Crazy for Apples"

According to the survey of marking research agencies, Strategy Analytics, after the promotion of iPhone since it appeared on the market, the market share came to 29%. Because of the latest version of iPhone, Apple Inc. re-obtained the lead in the smart phone market again. Apple Inc. has sold 37 million smart phones (ended on December 31, 2011), the global market share came to 23.9%. The second ranked Samsung smart phone' sales increased to 36.5 million, the global market share came to 23.5%. Since the iPhone 4S published in October last year, it helped Apple beat back Samsung Galaxy S II and Google's Android smart phone. Although Apple’s products have two major disadvantages of high price and incompatible operation system, why people all over the world still crazy about their products? The purpose of this research is to figure out how Apple Inc. uses special marketing strategies and consumer psychology to attract consumer’s attention. Apple Inc. turns those disadvantages which the other companies try to avoid into advantages and makes a huge success.
