Graduate School--a Perfect Choice for English Majors?”

Despite the vast research by previous scholars on the fever of attending graduate school among the undergraduates in mainland China, little is known about the motivation of going to graduate school for English majors. This study probes the motivation for students in the English Department to engage themselves in graduate school through quantitive and qualitative questionnaire research for 115 respondents. After an analysis of these responses, information is received about the perspective and limitations of English majors as well as English education in China. This research will take a glimpse of English majors' situation, furthermore, it will provide valuable information regarding Chinese English education and contribute to its improvement.

“Are E-books In and Traditional Books Out?”

In recent years, Taiwan government has encouraged the promotion of e-books. But e-books are still not very popular among Taiwan area compared to those in America and other foreign countries. However, e-books are actually a global trend and Taiwan won’t be an exception. Would e-books replace traditional books in Taiwan?  Through a survey of college students’ opinions about e-books, I argue that e-books will not totally replace traditional books but it does affect the sales of the traditional books.
