在此交通、媒體高度發達、國際經濟趨向整合、經貿交易頻繁的時代,蕞爾小國恭逄其會,若欲共襄盛舉,除本身厚植經貿實力外,最重要的是每位參與者皆能以國際語言,甚至是對方的語文達溝通、交流之效。然則台灣的英語文教學迭遭抨擊,效果始終不彰,究其主因,乃師資培訓不良。如今開放國小英語教學,高中外語選修,又面臨義務教育延長年限,英、外語師資之需要遽增,使師資不良外,更加上不足. 因此,本課程目前藐要目標是透過對七大重要外語教學法:The Grammar Translation Method, The Direct Method, The Audiolingual Method, Suggestopedia, The Silent Way, Total Physical Response, The Communicative Approach 整體性的認識,以及對林林總總影響外語教學因素的認知,訓練一批能針對學生需要,靈活運用各種教學法,設計有效教學活動的英語文教師。又由於本科教學以英語為傳授及課堂上師生交流、討論之工具,並在同儕學習環境下,以學生自我探索、思考、發表為主,自同時增進學生在英語文聽、說、讀、寫各方面的能力。
近期目標,則是針對有志從事其他外語教學的學生。目前國內,除了對英語教師尚有專門學校或學程培養以外,對其它外語,則皆僅能顧及語文上之訓練。然而由於第二外語之開放選修,以及國際間實際上的需要,外語教師之培訓,豈能容許延宕? 在專門學校、學程尚未推出前,本課程因所探討的教學法,並非針對「英語文」教學,而是「外語」教學,加之,本校又以「外語學院」之六大外語著稱,本課程發展成「外語教學」既有實質上的需要,更有發展上的本錢。
遠期目標,則是透過錄影帶之製作及遠距教學,加惠更多有志從事外語教學的人士。由於本人曾主持過教學錄影帶製作,加上本校擁有遠距教學中心,這項遠期目標應不難達成。
甲、 上學期:
主要分為五個單元, 針對五種方法: The Grammar Translation Method, The
Direct Method, The Audiolingual Method, Suggestopedia, 以及 The Silent
