ENGLISH DEPARTMENT CURRICULUM
The students who fulfill the University and Department requirements and acquire 128 credits are qualified for graduation. The three components of the English Department Curriculum are designed to carry out the Department Vision. The Skills Courses train students' English language and basic computer skills. The Basic Content Courses introduce students to literature in English, linguistics and Western and World cultures in relation to Chinese culture. The Advanced Courses help students further develop their analytical thinking, values, and professional knowledge through the study of a major emphasis of their own choice. Instruction in English and the high percentage of foreign professors and highly proficient local professors provide direct, intensive exposure to English and to Western culture.
