School's been a lot of fun as well as a lot of hard work. Teaching
at a
school is a very time consuming operation. All our meals are provided
at the school, so our day starts with
. Bobbi takes Glenn to his school right after that. Glenn's
schooling is another
here at HPA, but his campus is in town, whereas mine, where we eat, is
a couple of miles away
.
My school day begins with
. The chapel service is usually kind of an assembly where announcements
are made. One day each week a different teacher has to give a talk;
last year, I just
for mine. Once a week,
gives a little talk, or the school preacher says something inspirational.
If religion is mentioned, it's usually incidentally. The preacheris
more into building the Mana (Hawaiian for Karma) of our closely knit student
body than in proselytizing. Chapel lasts
, and it's a relaxing way to begin the morning.
Classes start three days a week and on the two other days. There is a break for thirty minutes during the morning and a forty-five minute break . Lunch consists of a , plus , and it can be pretty fortifying. After lunch, classes go . I have . I have complete charge over my program, and I have made it to compensate for the fact . Considering the fact that I have to monitor the progress of of widely divergent levels of proficiency, maturity, and motivation, the program works pretty well. Things have worked into a groove, or rut if you like, so that I go through the motions of instruction every day and . In fact, I now have an assistant who , and plans are to eventually .
