I. What is Infinitive?

   "Infinitive" is to + Verb    就是我們所說的不定詞,

  在英文的使用中,我們常常會使用到infinitive

  Ex1. I want to eat a sandwich.       to eat is infinitive, as the

                                        object of "want"

  Ex2. She needs to buy a computer.    to buy is infinitive, as the

                                        object of "need"

  Ex3. The teacher asks me to open the door. to open is infinitive, place

                                              after a pronoun

II, What is Gerund?

     "Gerund" is Verb + ing    就是我們說的動名詞

    在英文中,某些時候我們會用Gerund

    Ex1. I enjoy listening to music.  listening is gerund, as the

                                       object of "enjoy"

    Ex2. She keeps crying,            crying is gerund, as the

                                      object of "keep"     

    EX3. We are excited about going to Tahiti.  going is gerund, place

                                                 after the prep."about"

I. For some verbs, we can use either gerund or infinitive.

有些動詞後面我們可接不定詞或動名詞,有時含義相同,有時含義不同.

II. Either gerund or infinitive could be the subject of a sentence.

不定詞撼動名詞還可以作為句子的主詞喔.
