In terms of representation of women, one very complicated issue is its functions (represented for whom to gaze/look at, satisfying whose desire). I don't think we can have a simple answer to this question. When you said, "women nowadays seemingly are more capable to dominate their bodies to draw men's attention," I want to ask, "do all women (models) use their bodies to attract men? Can they not please themselves, or other women?" As I said, the question is a broad one, and to find out possible answers, we have to look at individual cases. Kate |
