Qualifications:
  1. Seniors or graduated students of English Departments, Department of Foreign Language.
  2. The average rank should be in top 30% in the class.
Materials for evaluations
  1. 3 copies of English transcript and one copy of the ranking list.
  2. 3 copies of English study plan; please indicate your motive for further studies according to our department introduction.
  3. 3 copies of term papers written during the school, with teachers' opinions or signatures.
  4. All the materials must be sent to English Department before 4:00 am, December 3, 2004.
Exam
  1. Material Evaluation
  2. Written Exam: 
    1. Range: analysis of literary works, English writing ability
    2. Time: 3 hours, Place: LA403, CFLL

    Note:

    1. Applicants can use Chinese-English, English-English, English-Chinese dictionary, no electronic dictionary; no materials can be brought into exam room.
    2. Only applicants who pass the materials evaluation plus the written examination will take the oral test. Announcement of oral exam name list: December 20 (Monday), 2004, 2:00 p.m. on the English Department website.
  3. Oral Exam: 
    1. Range: English express ability, motive for further studies, study plan, term papers, basic literature knowledge, content of written exam.
    2. Time: 20~25 minutes.
    3. Place: LA115, CFLL
Schedule Written Exam: December 13 (Monday), 2004, 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Oral Exam: December 22 (Wednesday), 2004, 1:00 pm. Place to sign in: LA303
Grading & Enrollment Standard
  1. Total grade is 100; material evaluation is 20%; written exam is 40%; oral exam is 40%.
  2. We don't have to take 2 students. The enrollment will be according to the total grade. If there is more than one student having the same total grade, the priorities of choosing are oral exam, written exam and material evaluation.
