Course Objectives                           Back

This course will look into how children acquire their mother tongue (or tongues), as a means of understanding more about human development, psychology, and language. We will examine how children acquire language sounds, word knowledge and use, word forms, sentence structure, semantics, and the communicative use of language, and then consider theories for explaining this acquisition.
